Following the intervention of His Eminence, Sheikh Yahya Oshoala As -Samadaani, the Chief Imam, Oriwu Central Mosque, serving Principals, former Principals and other stakeholders in the crisis that has plagued the association of old students of Shams -El-Deen Grammar School, Ikorodu, the newly constituted Board of Trustees (BOT), has called for a congress to chart the way forward for the association.
The general meeting, called by the BOT and led by Alhaji Murisiq Raji, was aimed at enabling the old students to discuss next steps and jointly take positive decisions needed to steer the association forward, and has been scheduled to hold at 10am within the school premises on Saturday, February 21, 2026.
Other members of the BOT constituted at the reconciliation meeting of the association held on December 1, 2025, are Mr Awe, BOT Secretary, Mr Toyosi Bello, Member, and Mr Hakeem Oresanya, Member.

At the reconciliation meeting, the contending bodies of the old students – The Old Student Association, the Alumni Association and the Central Working Committee, were proscribed and amalgamated to form a single, unified entity and shall be known and addressed as Shams-el-deen Grammar School Ikorodu Old Students Association.
Among other resolutions at the reconciliation meeting were that: All names and titles existing before this meeting, are proscribed; Any activity earmarked (scheduled) prior to the meeting, may proceed as planned; The current National Executive will remain in office until 31 December, 2025 and A 5 – man Board of Trustees (BoT) headed by Alhaji Murisiq Raji, was constituted to draft a new constitution and supervise the election of a new National Executive.
The existing constitutions of both the Alumni Association and the Old Student Association are, hereby, suspended.

The new leadership of the association has also appealed to members, and assured them of putting in place a system that would provide the much needed stability at the National and branch levels of the association, for further growth and development to be achieved.
